The Venoscope® II is a handheld LED transillumination device that provides external illumination to assist healthcare providers in visually identifying the location of superficial peripheral veins prior to routine procedures such as venipuncture or intravenous catheter placement.
LED Transillumination Device and Vein Finder Instructions for Use
All clinicians using the Venoscope® II will read the Warranty and Instructional Information included with each Venoscope® II. The small fold out offers excellent advice on the use of the Venoscope® II.
- Insert Venoscope II into disposable protective cover as clinically appropriate.
- Apply tourniquet as clinically appropriate.
- Dim area lights to improve visibility.
- Place device on patient’s skin with light directed down into the subcutaneous tissue.
- Adjust position to observe changes in light absorption patterns.
- Attach Velcro strap as shown below as appropriate.
- Mark the selected site or proceed using standard clinical technique.
- NEVER SHINE LIGHT INTO ANYONE’S EYES.
